Welcome to the NEW Pups Without Borders Adoptable Pups Page!

We’re excited to announce our partnership with AnimalsFirst. Going forward, in order to adopt, interested applicants will need to create an AnimalsFirst account.

This will allow us to create and maintain a line of communication with applicants and adopters. You’ll also be able to keep track of your application status, submit adoption requests without having to reach out to our team individually, and finish the adoption process with a single location where you can find all your new pups’ medical records and your adoption contract should you ever need to reference them.

We’re thrilled with this new process and we hope you all will be as well!

THE PROCESS:
  • Search our Adoptable Pups page for a dog you would like to add to your family. You can filter options by age, size, and breed
  • Once you click on the dog’s picture and read their profile, click “Apply for Pup” (it will say their name on the button)
  • When you arrive at the AnimalsFirst site, create a username and password. Be sure to keep track of this information for future log ins and to check back on pending adoptions. THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT!
  • Fill out your adoption application
  • Feel free to come back to our Adoptable Pups page to request other dogs you’re interested in bring into your home. Click “Apply for Pup” (again, it’ll say their name on the button), and then click “Submit Adoption Request”

You only need one AnimalsFirst account and application for all the dogs you want to request. DO NOT make multiple accounts!

To get back to your profile and check on adoption statuses, please go to adopt.animalsfirst.com

Check in on your AnimalsFirst account to see your application status and one of our team members will reach out to schedule an interview, home check, and if you are approved, you’ll be scheduled to meet the dogs you’ve applied to adopt.

Some fine print:

Adopting a dog from Pups Without Borders includes necessary spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccines (including DAPP, bordetella, and lepto), and rabies vaccination until adoption. Adopters accept responsibility for future vaccines after adoption.

Applying for a dog does not guarantee you will get that dog. Our dogs frequently get several adoptions and we work to make the best choice for the dog’s wellbeing.

We DO NOT do DNA tests on our dogs. Breeds and ages for most dogs, especially strays, is determined from our experience and the vets we work with.

Pups Without Borders will provide medical records via AnimalsFirst after adoption, but it is the responsibility of the adopter to keep these records. While we try to follow up when records are requested, we have too many dogs in our care to be tracking down old medical records.

Pups Without Borders DOES NOT purchase animals from breeders or auctions.

A 5% service fee will be added to the cost of adoption regardless of method of payment.

We have previously done adoptions out of state, we require these adopters to arrange travel to our rescue to meet dogs prior to adoption, and transportation for the dog to get home. We do not ship dogs to adopters.
